Foreigners dance to the Bollywood Beat

Bangalore: A Bangalore-based choreographer has decided to cash in on Bollywood's fascination for music and dance and clubbed it with the desire to keep fit.

Lenka from the Czech Republic, though has not heard of her famous countrywoman Yana Gupta, but seems to share her talent for moving to the Bollywood beat.

Lenka lives in Bangalore and has taken to classes in Bollywood dancing twice a week.

"My mother is a member of Overseas Womens' Club and she saw a performance of this class. When I came to India we joined this class because we found it perfect," said Lenka, Dance Student

Their teacher is Arun Kumar, a man who has been dancing for eight years.

Foreign students

Kumar decided to use his training and spread his passion for dance. To his surprise he found both Indian and foreign students enjoying themselves thoroughly.

"They love it, if they go to some pub they say we can move now. It is more like a stress buster. People want so many things these days. They want to keep fit, they want to feel really good about themselves," said Arun Kumar, choreographer.

"I enjoy it and I am exhausted at the end of it. I like it. It is tough, but he is really good and he has the music in the blood so it is nice," said Monica, Student from Italy.

"I joined up for the fun and the exercise I had heard about the fun. It is fabulous, it makes you want to jump. It makes it a lot easier because of the music," said Nalini, another student.

Ask any Bollywood star and they will tell you that all that dancing is not as easy as it looks.

But it is a great deal of fun a lot of energy required and students love every moment.
