Tuesday, November 28, 2006 (New Delhi):A key witness in Nitish Katara murder case Bharti Yadav arrived at the passport office near the Patiala House court in New Delhi to submit her revoked passport.
Bharti, who finally surfaced on Tuesday wearing a veil, is due to depose in the Katara case on Wednesday.
There had been much speculation about Bharti's whereabouts since she arrived in India a few days ago.
Yadav, who was accompanied by her lawyer, arrived at the MEA office around 11:30 am (IST) and spent around 20 minutes there to sign papers for passport and visa in compliance with the High Court orders.
Her lawyer denied that the veiled woman is Bharti Yadav even though NDTV reporters came face to face with her and her signatures also prove her presence.
Her signatures apparently match samples from four years ago. MEA counsel Anand Kumar Jha, also confirmed that Bharti signed the papers for her passport. (With PTI inputs)
