Durban: After the washout in Johannesburg, India have arrived in Durban for the second match of their five-match One-Day series against South Africa.
Many of the concerns of recent times still remain. Virender Sehwag's finger is yet to heal fully and the threat of rain hasn't gone away.
However, Team India had an intense training session under the lights at Kingsmead in Durban.
The Men in Blue have been pursued relentlessly by rain from Colombo to Kuala Lumpur to Chennai. So to get his wards under a rain-free sky, drew a rare response from the Indian coach - a chuckle.
"It's nice to be outside and training in the normal air, rather than being indoors," says Team India coach Greg Chappell.
Virender Sehwag's injured finger is of course the topic of discussion. In Yuvraj Singh's absence, his experience will be critical in a struggling batting line-up.
"His finger is still a bit sore, and some of the stitches are to remain. So if we have those out in the next few days... Hopefully, each day things get a bit better," Chappell says on Sehwag's progress after being injured.
This group, as the coach likes to describe Team India, has been under intense fire in recent days. The losses have accumulated and on the road to the World Cup, the entries in the victory column need to start coming in.
"The work that has gone in has been extraordinary and very pleasing from my point of view. I can see the improvement, but the only time you will know it's happening is when you will see it out in the middle. I can't believe that the boys can work this hard hard and not see some improvement on the field," Chappell says.
The scoreboard maybe blank right now. But the big question is whether it will remain blank, or will it see India flashing to a big win here, or will it see the South Africans prevailing in the land of Zulu.
