100 low-floor buses soon
	CHENNAI: Transport Minister K.N. Nehru on Wednesday said 100 low-floor buses would be added to the MTC fleet on March 21. The new services would ply to places such as Mamallapuram, Periyapalayam and Gummidipoondi from various depots. Periyapalayam will have services from the Koyambedu bus terminus, Avadi and Vallalar Nagar while Mamallapuram would have services from the city, both on the East Coast Road and the Old Mahabalipuram Road. Services would also be added from Broadway to Padappai, Tiruporur, Chemmancherry and Kunrathur while Tamabaram would have direct city bus connectivity to Somangalam and Madambakkam. Loop services would soon be available at Tidel Park (Tidel Park-Tiruvanmiyur-LB Road-Sardar Patel road-Tidel Park and Tidel Park-Velachery-Raj Bhavan-Sardar Patel Road-Tidel Park). MTC buses plying on Poonamallee High Road would now enter the Egmore station from the Poonamallee High Road side.
