New Delhi:Fresh leads are emerging in the investigation into the Samjhauta Express blasts, which killed 68 people.
Seven people have been held in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Off the seven people, one was picked up for questioning from the Walled City area of Delhi, two in western UP and four in Rajasthan.
Among the four people detained in Rajasthan is a married couple from the Naya Sahar locality of Bikaner.
According to the police, two more people have been held in Bikaner based on information given by the couple.
Police sources say a man held in Bikaner has a striking resemblance to one of the sketches released by the Haryana police on Tuesday.
A Haryana police team is now on its way to Bikaner to help with the investigations.
Agency reports say two more people have been held by the police in western Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has voiced his hope that India should share information on the blast investigation with Pakistan before the joint anti-terror mechanism meets on March 6.
Speaking to NDTV, Kasuri also said that it's impossible to arrive at a conclusion quickly on who is responsible.
Back on track
The Samjhauta Express resumed its journey to the Indo-Pak border late on Wednesday night.
In fact, such was the rush of travellers that the railway authorities had to attach two extra bogies to accommodate all those eager to travel to Pakistan.
This came as a fitting reply to the terrorists who wanted to spread fear.
On Wednesday night, many travellers expressed their desire for permanent peace between India and Pakistan.
"We want harmony. There should be no need for a passport for travelling between India and Pakistan, they should be one," said Rubina, Passenger.
Security tightened
As expected, there was heavy deployment of police personnel before the train's departure. All luggage was screened using X-ray machines.
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav himself turned up to review the security arrangements.
"Two RPF and one TT will be present in each coach. Luggage identification by the passengers will be required. General class has been discontinued and bogeys are interconnected so that in case of a blast, passengers can move to a safer bogey," he said.
So just a little after midnight, the Samjhauta Express began its journey with a message of peace just days after those intent on destroying the peace tried to derail it at Panipat.
